Study on friction and wear behavior of nitrogen expanded martensite under low-load and low-speed sliding condition
The friction and wear behavior of nitrogen expanded martensite with different nitrogen contents is analyzed by pin-ondisk tribometer under dry sliding condition. The results show that the friction and wear behavior of nitrogen expanded martensite represents a typical mild-oxidational wear characterized by the generation, compaction and delamination of oxide debris, which is related to the nitrogen content and hardness of expanded martensite. The elevated contact temperature on rubbed surface could vary the kinds of oxides and wear mechanisms.
