BIOGRAPHY
Urvish K. Patel holds Doctorate in Medicine and Master of Public Health in Biostatistics with training in the population- based outcome, cost -effectiveness, predictive, and survival analysis, and management of the clinical trials. I also have experience of managing clinical trials in the Neuro- AIDS division, Dept. of Neurology and Clinical Trial Unit, Dept. of Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital, NY. I did a number of externships in the stroke, epilepsy, migraine and general neurology. With the application of clinical knowledge into research, my team have successfully completed more than 30 projects. Under my lead authorship, many of our projects have been awarded prestigious AHA Junior Investigator Award, Stroke Minority Travel Grant, ANA Travel Awards, ISMMS Graduate School Travel Award, and Young Investigator Award in Clinical Cardiology and have recognized by media like Practice Update and Medscape.
RESEARCH INTEREST
Urvish K Patel research interests are neurology, neuroepidemiology, vascular medicine and translational medicine. I have developed the expertise to review articles and meta -analysis using Review Manager, analyzing clinical data from hospital registries and the national databases like NIS, NRD, NSQIP, NHANES, etc using SAS, SPSS, SQL, Macro, Redcap, EPIC and Microsoft Office, and grant writing, budgeting and submission using InfoEd- electronic Research Administration Portal.
