BIOGRAPHY
Dr Antonio Siniscalchi is a Medical Doctor, Clinical Specialist (Neurologist) since 1997 who works in a Neurology and Stroke Unit Department of a Regional Hospital in Italy. In the field of neurological diseases, his main expertise is stroke, epilepsy, neuropharmacology, EEG, extracranial and intracranial color duplex. He is Responsible of Rare Disease in Neurology and Responsible of Cerebrovascular disease and Neurosonology in the Department of Neurology and Stroke Unit "Annunziata" Hospital Cosenza, Italy. He is adjunct professor at the Department of Pharmacology Department of Experimental Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Catanzaro "Magna Graecia" . He is member of Scientific National Comitee of "Progress in Neuroscience" official bulletin of the Italian Society of Hospital Neurologists, Neurosurgeons and Neuroradiologists (S.N.O.) and Member of National Comitee of Italian National Society of Neurovascular Disease (SINV) and Editor in Chief of Newletter SINV. He is member of editorial board in various International Medical Journals. He is peer reviewer for Stroke, Neurology, European of Neurology etc. Since 2001 the is an expert in the cerebrovascular disease (TIA and Thrombolysis) and in the Neurosonology and he is an expert on intravenous tissue-type plasminogen activator for the treatment of acute cerebral ischemia. Dr Siniscalchi is author and co-author of about 180 scientific publications in neurology and neuropharmacology. Scientific publications have been cited by various authors in medical journals with impact factor and in the references of international scientific books. The first scientific publications arise from studies performed during a postdoctoral fellowship research in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University - Montreal (Canada). The researches have been conducted in collaborations with the Neurology Clinic, University of Rome "Tor Vergata", Neurorehabilitation Hospital IRCCS "S. Lucia, Rome and the Department of Physiology, Laboratory of Neurophysiology University of Rome "Tor Vergata" in Italy. Furthermore, the last scientific publications are collaborations between Department of Neuroscience, Neurology Division "Annunziata" Hospital Cosenza with the Neurological Clinic of the University of Rome "Tor Vergata" and IRCCS Rehabilitation Hospital "S. Lucia, Rome and with the Clinical Pharmacology, University of Catanzaro, Italy. Recently he is a collaboration with Department of Neurology, University Hospital of Geneva, Switzerland, and with National Institute on Drug Abuse, NIH, Baltimore, 21224, USA and with Acute Stroke Department, Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Dublin, Ireland.
