BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Xu, a professor and a doctoral supervisor, works for Nanjing Forestry University in the academic field of Wood Science and Technology. He also serves some global academic organizations, e.g., the IPC working party for Pillow/poplar harvesting and utilization as a committee member, the European Forest Institute (EFI) as an affiliated member, etc. His mission has been devoted in extensive investigations and development of value-added wood products, including the modification of solid wood and composites out of wood. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles both in English and Chinese scientific journals, published one book on wood composites terminology, and holds 8 Chinese patents in wood composites manufacturing.
RESEARCH INTEREST
Wood-polymeric materials composites, such as recycled rubber, plastics, etc., focusing on the interfacial adhesion mechanism, manufacturing processes, special products properties analysis using new technologies.
