BIOGRAPHY

Dr Fotouhi is an Assistant Professor of materials and structures in the James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow, UK. Dr Fotouhi is an expert in failure analysis, modelling and structural health monitoring of composite materials. He has published over 100 scientific papers, 2 book chapters and 3 filed patents; (H-index = 22 & > 1200 citations on Google Scholar). He led the Hybrid Composites developments in the HiPerDuCT programme (EP/I02946X/1), and currently leading research council grants EP/V009451/1, EP/R511705/1, and industrial projects related to structural health monitoring of composite structures. He has 3 years of industrial experience in R&D activities including reverse engineering, manufacturing, CAD/CAM and material analysis. He was nominated as the best researcher of the year at the University of the West of England's aerospace department, graduated with honours MSc (Sep 2011) and PhD (Dec 2015) degrees in mechanical engineering, both his MSc and PhD theses were singled out for their quality in a university-wide assessment, received two prizes recognizing his international conference presentations, supervised/advised 16 MSc, 2 PhD students, and 40 BEng students. He is editorial board in international journals: Composite Materials, Science publishing group, and Journal of engineering and technology.
