BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Erdem Ogut worked as a staff scientist at Leibniz Institute of Photonic Technology, Germany between 2019-2021, and currently, is the director of simulation on additive manufacturing at FIGES Engineering, Turkey. Dr. Erdem Ogut obtained his BS, MS, and PhD degrees from Sabanci University, Turkey in 2005, 2007, and 2014, respectively. His research interests include plasmonic nanotransducers for heat-assisted magnetic recording, plasmonic sensors, polymer piezoelectric nanofibers for sensing, and 3D printer development based on selective laser melting technology. He is the recipient of the Optical Society of America and IEEE Magnetic Society travel grants during PhD studies. He was invited to MIT as a visiting researcher in 2021. He serves as an advisory board member on manufacturing at Future Talent Council, a global think tank headquartered in Sweden.
