BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Peilei Zhang is an Associate professor of materials processing and the director of equipment/project at the department of Materials Engineering Science, Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES), Shanghai, China. He graduated from Shanghai Jiaotong University and got his doctor degree in 2010. Since that time, he has been working for SUES. He worked in Central South University as a senior visiting scholar focusing on selective laser melting from 2014 to 2015. He worked in Fraunhofer ILT in Germany as a guest professor focusing on laser micromachining from 2019. In scientific publication, he has published more than 100 journal/conference papers and confidential reports for industrial partners in his main fields of research - Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, etc. He has been awarded the first prize of Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award in 2015.
RESEARCH INTEREST
His current research focuses on (1) Additive Manufacturing for Metal: Selective laser melting (SLM), Electron Beam Melting (EBM); (2) Laser Materials Processing: Laser precision microfabrication, Laser cladding and welding; (3) Thermomechanical Processing: New material welding and physical metallurgy.
