BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. Fernando Duarte is the scientific coordinator of Clitrofa Education Academy. He graduated in 1998 as dentist (DDS) at Instituto Superior de Ciencias da Saude-Norte, Oporto (Portugal). In 2000 he finished his MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College of London (UK) with the research project: A comparison of infective complications associated with the two techniques employed in miniplate osteosynthesis for fractures of the mandibular angle. In 2012-2014 he done is certification in advanced oral rehabilitation and rehabilitation with zygomatic implants at INEPO-Instituto Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisas Odontologicas, S. Paulo (Brasil). In 2020 he finished his PhD in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Eastman Dental Institute, University College of London (UK) with the research project: Masseter muscle adaptation following orthognathic surgery. Fernando Duarte published more than 47 articles in international dental journals and was co-author of 3 books/chapters in books. He has a university teaching experience of about 19 years. Fernando Duarte is Oral Surgeon Specialist by OMD (Portuguese Dental Association) and leads a clinic in Trofa (Portugal). Its clinical practice is exclusively in the areas of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Implantology
